Terms of Service
The rules for using the Nimbus bot and this dashboard. By inviting Nimbus to a server or logging in here, you accept them.
Last updated: 29 August 2026
01The service
Nimbus is a multipurpose Discord bot with a web dashboard. The bot provides ticket handling, moderation and automod, leveling, giveaways, polls, custom embeds and server logging. The dashboard is where server administrators configure those modules.
These terms form an agreement between you and the operator of Nimbus ("we", "us"). They cover both the bot and the dashboard. Discord itself is governed by Discord's own terms, which apply in addition to ours. Nimbus is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discord Inc.
02Eligibility and accounts
You sign in with your Discord account. We never see or store your Discord password — authentication is handled by Discord's OAuth flow.
- You must meet Discord's minimum age (13, or higher where your country requires it) and hold a Discord account in good standing.
- To manage a server through the dashboard you must have the Manage Server permission in that server, as reported by Discord.
- If you use Nimbus on behalf of a community or organisation, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for it.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account and your server's configuration.
03Acceptable use
You agree not to use Nimbus to:
- break Norwegian law, EU law, or the laws that apply to you or your server's members;
- violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines or Developer Terms;
- harass, defraud or harm other users, or process their data without a lawful basis;
- send spam, run scams, or use giveaways and polls to deceive;
- probe, overload or interfere with the service, or bypass rate limits and access controls;
- misuse moderation tooling to target users for off-platform reasons.
We may suspend or remove access for any account or server that breaches these rules, with or without notice where the abuse is serious.
04Your content and configuration
Server administrators create content through Nimbus: ticket panels, embeds, banned-word lists, automod rules, poll questions and similar. That content is yours. You are responsible for it, for having the right to publish it, and for ensuring it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
You grant us the limited right to store, process and display that content only as needed to operate the service. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not use it for advertising. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law.
05Giveaways, polls and leveling
Nimbus provides the tooling; your server runs the activity. If you run a giveaway, you are the organizer and are responsible for the prize, the rules, and compliance with applicable law — including Norwegian and EU rules on lotteries, promotions and consumer protection. We do not sponsor, fund or fulfill any giveaway.
XP, levels and leaderboard positions have no monetary value, cannot be transferred or redeemed, and may be reset when the bot is removed from a server or its data is deleted.
06Intellectual property
The service itself — the bot, the dashboard, the code, the design and the Nimbus name and logo — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the service as intended; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or rebrand the service, except where mandatory law gives you that right.
07Fair use
Nimbus is shared infrastructure. To keep it fast and stable for everyone, the API and the bot enforce rate limits and command cooldowns. Normal use will never come close to them; they exist to catch automation and abuse. Attempting to bypass limits — rotating tokens, distributing requests across accounts, or scraping the API — is a breach of these terms and may lead to throttling, suspension or termination.
08Availability and changes
We aim to keep Nimbus online and reliable, but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee. Features may be added, changed or removed. Where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will try to give reasonable notice through the dashboard or the bot's support channels.
The service depends on Discord's platform. Discord outages or changes to Discord's API or policies may affect Nimbus, and we are not responsible for them.
09Termination
You can stop using Nimbus at any time: remove the bot from your server and log out of the dashboard. You can ask us to delete your server's stored configuration and your account data — see the privacy policy for how deletion works.
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for abuse, or where we are required to by law or by Discord. Where practical we will give notice first, except for serious abuse or legal obligations.
10Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by Norwegian law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, or damage resulting from Discord outages, actions taken by your server's moderators, or content created by your server's members. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or NOK 1,000.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Norwegian or EU law, including liability for gross negligence or rights you hold as a consumer.
11Indemnity
If your use of the service, your server's configuration or your content causes a third party to bring a claim against us — for example a member disputing a moderation action or a giveaway you organized — you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur as a result, to the extent the claim arises from your breach of these terms or the law. This does not apply where we are at fault, or where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are subject to the courts of Norway, with Oslo as the venue, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
13Changes and contact
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we will give notice through the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
